David- a Marketing professional with over 15 years experience in digital marketing and social media branding & Meagan- a Customer Service professional with a knack for Business development, we are a small family business that started collecting plants as a hobby in 2020 (at the start of the COVID pandemic). We came to the quick realization that this hobby took more care, education and knowledge to keep up. The hardest part was finding a seller who wouldn't overcharge for their plants and also gave great customer service. We received amazingly packaged plants and plants that just didn't hold up entirely. The sellers would give little to no education on how to acclimate or rehab said plants and several perished. As we live, we learn. 

We are here specifically to make your plant buying experience one to remember. We not only provide the care tips and education towards caring for the Rooted Martian that you purchased, but we are here to walk with you every step of the way in your journey. Each Rooted Martian purchase comes with a complimentary digital consultation, where you can sit with our team to discuss concerns, answer all of your questions or just come hang out with us! 

Upon first contact, we Martians were... underwhelmed.

Welcome to the Rooted Martians Help Zone, where Earth plants meet cosmic vibes. Whether you’re a human or an intergalactic being, here are answers to the most common questions from our galactic plant community.

Plant Care

What medium do your Rooted Martian’s grow in?

Every plant thrives in different mediums. Whether it's an alocasia that craves more of a chunky pon mix or a philodendron that likes a more airy chunk mix, you can rest assured that all of our plants sit in soilless mix to keep unwanted pests away. Soil recommendations can be found in the Medium tab of your plant.

How do you care for your Rooted Martians and what conditions are they kept in?

Each of our Rooted Martians is kept and cared for in an at home nursery. We use non toxic pest control and the humidity remains 65%-80% with 3000k grow lights at 12hr intervals. We use distilled water when filling our humidifiers and purified water only, when feeding our Martians. We micro fertilize our Martians every 2 weeks. What do I do when my Rooted Martian has arrived?

Congratulations on a successful landing of your Rooted Martian! Although we're sure you’re excited, please patiently and carefully remove your Rooted Martian from its packaging. If it is in a pot, we suggest allowing it to acclimate to your atmosphere for up to 2 weeks in its original soil. If the soil is dry, lightly water & if still damp, allow the soil to dry before watering again. If your Martian was delivered in Moss or with an acclimation kit, please refer to the invoice emailed with further instruction.

Will my Martian experience shock after space travel?

Maybe a little. Its normal for plants to be slightly stressed post travel. Sometimes you may even have some fallen leaves, which just means its so ready to thrive in your new atmosphere. Give it a few days in a calm humid landing zone, away from direct light. Avoid repotting immediately, it needs to acclimate first.

Shipping

How does shipping work?

All orders will be shipped with 2 day shipping. We ask to allow us 5-7 business days from the date the order was placed for your order to be shipped. 2 Day shipping does not mean it will be shipped in 2 days. We send a verification email once your order is placed, where you have this time to verify shipping, add to your order, or cancel your order.

How long does it take for my plant to arrive?

Standard earth delivery time would be 7-10 business days to ship and all Rooted Martians are shipped 2 day air, standard. You have the option for next day air which can be purchased at checkout. For local deliveries surrounding the Los Angeles County region please inquire at hello@rootedmartians.com before making your purchase for further details. 

(we ship from Los Angeles, Ca. using space certified packaging. Note: we avoid weekend launches of your Rooted Martians and ship days are only on Mon-Wed, holidays exempt)

Do you ship internationally?

We unfortunately do not ship internationally. We ship all throughout the U.S for the exception of Hawaii, Arizona & Alaska.

Is my plant safe traveling through Earth's atmosphere?

Absolutely!! We take pride in wrapping and getting your Martian ready for lift off. We highly insulate and take every precaution needed to ensure a safe arrival.

Do you offer heat or cold protection during temperature extremes?

Yes! If your zone is experiencing lava level heat of deep space cold, we’ll include thermal shields (Cold or heat packs) at no additional cost. Just select which you require at checkout.

Can I track my Rooted Martian and what if it's lost in transit?

As soon as your Rooted Martian is shipped you will receive your tracking number for your package. We strongly suggest verifying your shipping address at checkout so that your Rooted Martian does not get lost in transit. If your package is lost in transit, please contact us immediately so that we may do our best to redirect. Earth mail is a bit tricky but we are always here to help make any situation more pleasant.

Can I combine shipping for multiple items?

Yes! If you’ve purchased from Rooted Martians on different platforms, (Facebook, Instagram, Palmstreet, Etc.) Please contact us directly with your order numbers and we will adjust your shipping appropriately.

Can you hold shipping for a certain amount of time?

Absolutely. For an additional fee, we can hold shipping for as long as you need.  We will continue to care for your Rooted Martian in the meantime. Please contact us directly for further details.
